There is more to selecting
a blind fabric than style and colour. For your blind to
achieve its performance objectives, there are a number
of scientific issues which have to be considered:
e.g. how open the fabric surface is, the amount of sunlight
to be transmitted, reflected and absorbed and heat to
be controlled; choice of glazing; amount of natural daylight
required and environmental control equipment.
The performance of each Mermet fabric is assessed against
a number of key scientific values such as Solar Transmission,
Reflection and Absorption, Openess Factor and Shading
Co-efficient. These values are expressed in an industry
shorthand, or symbol, and the table below is intended
as a guide to each value. |
